The beautiful and super-talented, Beyoncé is making moves in her music career, and headed into the country music genre with her recently released singles, “Texas Hold’ Em,” and “16 Carriages.”

The upcoming album, Renaissance Act II via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records, is set to be released on March 29, 2024.

This will be Beyoncé’s 8th solo studio album to be released, and her 14th as an artist, since her start back in the late 90’s with R&B group, ‘Destiny’s Child’.

Beyoncé first release in country music was with the track “Daddy Lessons” on her sixth studio album, Lemonade (2016). She performed the single at the 50th annual CMA’s, alongside The Dixie Chicks.

The single, “Daddy Lessons” unfortunately was rejected by the Recording Academy’s Country Music Committee at the time.

I think this time around, she is taking her Texas roots, and proving why she is the “Queen Bey,” and the best-selling music artist of all time.

I grew up going to the Houston rodeo every year. It was this amazing diverse and multicultural experience where there was something for every member of the family, including great performances, Houston-style fried Snickers, and fried turkey legs. One of my inspirations came from the overlooked history of the American Black cowboy. Many of them were originally called cowhands, who experienced great discrimination and were often forced to work with the worst, most temperamental horses. They took their talents and formed the Soul Circuit. Through time, these Black rodeos showcased incredible performers and helped us reclaim our place in western history and culture.

According to Rolling Stone, “Texas Hold’ Em” earned Beyoncé her very first song placed on the country music charts. The new single is projected to come in at no. 50 on the Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

~UPDATE~ (February 20th), Beyoncé‘s “Texas Hold ‘Em” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, and “16 Carriages” wasn’t far behind at the No. 9 spot.

Billboard reports that “Texas Hold ‘Em” received 19.2 million streams, and 39,000 traditional sales. While “16 Carriages” nabbed 10.3 million streams and 14,000 sales in the first week.

This is just the beginning for Beyoncé in Country Music.
