On Sunday (04/21), The 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees were announced.
American Idol judge, Grammy Award winning Lionel Richie, and host Ryan Seacrest announced the new members during Sunday’s episode.
This year’s inductees include Cher, Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osbourne, A Tribe Called Quest, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton and Kool & the Gang.
An individual artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before the year of nomination to be eligible for the Hall of Fame.
The recipients of the Music Excellence Awards include Dionne Warwick, MC5, and Norman Whitfield.
The Rock Hall of Fame is also bestowing the Musical Excellence Award posthumously on Jimmy Buffett,
This award recognizes artists, musicians, songwriters, and producers whose originality and influence in creating music have made a significant impact on the musical landscape.
Other artists nominated this year who were not inducted include Mariah Carey, Eric B. & Rakim, Jane’s Addiction, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, Sinéad O’Connor, and Sade.
