The Coronation of King Charles III will include multiple day(s) of celebration across the UK. The first of events will include the coronation of the new monarch at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023.
Following the coronation, on May 7, 2023, there is a celebratory concert planned at Winsor Castle. This star-studded line-up of performers includes American singers, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry.
Also, performances by Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, singer-songwriter Freya Ridings and classical-soul composer Alexis French.
Plus, a featured performance by Take That’s Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen.
The Trio, Take That recently stated: “This will be our first live show since the Odyssey Tour, four years ago in 2019, and what a stage to come back on.
“A huge live band and orchestra, a choir, military drummers, the backdrop of Windsor Castle and the celebration of a new King. We can’t wait.”
The celebration will also feature a special performance from the Coronation Choir, which is created by a group of community choirs and amateur singers from across the UK.
Alongside the Virtual Choir, which will be made up of singers across the Commonwealth for a special performance on the night.
It has also been announced; Royal Ballet, the Royal Opera, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal College of Music and the Royal College of Art will come together for a special performance.
Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville will host the concert at Windsor Castle.
